![]() What I definitely wanted to eat was a lobster roll, and then they had a twin lobster special that caught my eye. ![]() We sat at the bar and were given menus to look over and the specials were explained to us. It had a hole in the wall feel to it, but that’s coming from someone who doesn’t see many places like that. We came across the Porthole, which was a nice little place. I didn’t realize a lot of the restaurants are seasonal, so I was driving around the city, stopping at several places and failing. It was my second day in Portland, and I was looking for another place to go eat some lobster. I would not recommend this place to anyone. 00 tip included was just okay but Denny’s or I HOP service far better. In fact the help seemed as if they were used to having complaints of this nature and not overly concerned. The demeanorof the waitress who had waited on us was superficial and insincere. The cornbeef hash was dry and cold before the entrees arrived. When I went back to my table the waitress had come out with the side dishes not even the main course the waitress said she didn’t want our sides to get cold. The chef did not even want to address my complaint. Instead of being treated as a customer and having him ask as to address my concern as to what was taking so long I was snubbed. Finally I went to look for a manager no where in sight so I went to the kitchen and asked for the manager. ![]() The waitress came back at one point saying that she went to speak to the chef to let him know that we were frustrated. Then before we had even received our meal the waitress delivers us the check? At this point my wife is upset. During our wait I had a second Bloody Mary and two coffee refills, Well waiting we watched customers come in order and be served after us. From the time we placed our order it took over an hour before we were served. I ordered the Casco Bay Omelet w/home fries and a side of cornbeef hash. My wife ordered two eggs over easy w/bacon, home fries toast and a side of links. She asked what we would like to drink 2 coffees and for my wife a mimosa for me a Bloody Mary which I would describe as average at best, We placed our order when the drinks were brought to the table. Being Valentine’s Day we expected alittle bit of a wait so we seated ourselves and waited about 10 – 15 minutes before our server arrived. Originally planned to go to the American Café’ bu when we arrived there the wait we were told would be 45 minutes to get seated so instead we headed here. Was there today and can’t stop thinking how bad the experience was.
